Living Inspiration: Russel Wright
On Monday, I was lucky enough to make the trek up to Russel Wright's house in Garrison, NY for an undisclosed project. For those of you not familiar, he's an industrial designer from the 60's who built an eco sensitive home called Manitoga. Door knobs are made of rocks, couches are embedded in rocks, walls are made of plaster and pine needles while sliding doors have pressed flowers and plants in between plexy-glass. It's a national historic landmark and open to the public.

Woah, Mary & Russel Wright are my new artistic obsessions- thank you for sharing! I just ordered the Guide to Easier Living, which they wrote in 1950 so I'm sure it's full of some wonderful throwbacks. I hope to see Russel's estate in NY myself someday!
